Drawing Buddies visited Waterloo Park today, after a group critique of the collective drawing that we made last week and discussing how to take it forward, surprising how effortlessly it evolves, the answers are all there in the room. Did some more drawing, but were quickly defeated by the cold. Didn't put boxes on our heads but did take some rapid fire snaps 'looking outwards' from Spontaneous City through circular view finders (what the birds might see) and retreated back to base for tea and quick drawings of architectural features of Phoenix Centre, through circular view finders !
'Spontaneous Communities' is an ambitious engagement programme for Norfolk & Norwich Festival. Five community groups will collaborate through the year with regional artists to research ideas, concerns and questions triggered by the Spontaneous City sculptures at NNF11, then they'll create new work for NNF12. Created by artists London Fieldworks and sited at Eaton Park, Waterloo Park and Cow Tower in Norwich, the sculptures draw on the ecology and biodiversity of their settings.
