HERB WALK - SUNDAY 23rd OCTOBER

A warm welcome to this herb walk. We are going to go from the Cow Tower (and one of the tree sculptures- "spontaneous cities"). En route via the Catherdral herb garden we will explore what is growing all around us, what is used by herbalists, what is just beautiful and I'm sure there'll be some surprises.

1-2pm Gather at the Cow Tower, picnic and tree sculpture

2-3pm Herb Walk From cow Tower via Catherdral to Assembly Rooms, to end in city centre at 3 ish.

Im one of the group facilitators. Im working with the Lovely allotment folk on Bluebell Rd South. We are finalising what our project will entail. After initial meetings and checking out some venues (Ill do a separate blog about these) we are going to on a herb walk to check out the Tree sculptures.

Eaton Park Picnic in the Trees

Taking inspiration from Georgie Manly's work, on Tuesday we had a picnic lunch under the trees in Eaton Park. 

It was really windy and essential to tape our lunch down so it was very handy that we had come prepared with plenty of tape. There were leaves blowing around too which we added to our collage along with words, drawings and scribbles in pen. 

When had we finished our lunch we wrapped our tablecloth around the trees so we could admire our work. It looked glorious against the huge trees mirroring the London Fieldworks' bird boxes. We thought about leaving it there so the birds could come down and eat the leftovers.

It must have seemed enormous to the two young boys that were helping us. One said "Look, look there's my cheese! It's so high up! My cheese is so high up!"
